CHRISTOPHER O'YOUNG is an Australian composer, bassist and cellist based between Beijing and Rennes.

 

A graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (2002) he has scored original music for film, documentary, TVCs and live events, across all musical genres.

 

Christopher composed the score for Chen Daming's What Women Want starring Andy Lau and Gong Li.

In 2012 he was awarded an AACTA/AFI (Australian Academy of Cinematic and Television Arts) Award for his work on Murandak: Songs of Freedom (Best Sound for Documentary).

He produced the music video and track Another Day for Redfern hip hop crew RBL which won Best Music Video at the 2005 St Kilda Film Festival.

 

Recently Christopher scored the feature film Galore (dir. Rhys Graham) and Small Mercies, part of Tim Winton's The Turning.
